I have been a licensed Architect since 1978. I have been registered in Texas as well as Colorado. I received my Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University in 1975 and have spent my 45-year career focused on providing Pueblo and the surrounding Valleys with quality, sustainable, and energy efficient architecture. During that time, I designed Commercial Office Buildings, K-12 Schools, Medical Clinics, Banks, and numerous Housing Projects. I am in the process of retiring from private practice and looking forward to the next phase of my life journey.
I have been involved with the Posada organization as the Design Architect in several Projects over the years. Together, we have successfully renovated the Monterey Apartments for Veterans, a Youth Group Home, and a 17-Unit Senior Single–Room Occupancy Housing Facility.
Apparently, I am not finished experiencing the challenges and satisfaction I get when I’m involved in a successful Design/Construction project. For that reason, I have accepted a position as Senior Planner with Posada.
In this position, I will be able to provide my Architectural expertise in the future Housing Projects of Posada. My role will be to assist in the development of their new Housing Projects in the initial Conceptual Stage and working with the Design Team of Architects and Consulting Engineers. I will oversee the entire Design and Construction Document process, the Bidding Phase to meet Budget, and provide oversight of the Construction Administration Services.
I feel it’s important to give back to the community, so, I currently give of my time by serving on the Pueblo Regional Building Department Board of Appeals and on my Church Board as the Finance Chairperson.
I look forward to having time to pursue some of my longtime interests such as Fly Fishing, Flying my Drones, Photography, Playing a little more Golf, and Camping (now in a cabin instead of a tent). I, also enjoy traveling to other countries and taking relaxing River Cruises and reading Historical Novels. I hope to have time to become more involved as a volunteer with other charitable organizations.
