Paula Chostner is a native of Nebraska and retired Air Force spouse, moving her family to 7 postings around the United States and 2 in England over 22 years. She holds a master’s degree in French with a BA with High Distinction and Phi Beta Kappa. Throughout this time and the past 22 years in Pueblo, her focus and passion have centered around education and the work of nonprofits in her communities, with teaching endorsements in Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, and Virginia. Her professional experience includes working as a classroom teacher, assistant principal and principal, and executive director for human resources; and most recently as Director of Fund Development & Campaign for United Way of Pueblo County. Other nonprofit endeavors include president of Officers’ Wives’ Clubs at 3 Air Force bases providing spouse support and charitable program funding; peer counselor for National Childbirth Trust, England; program director for CASA in Clovis, NM; Parkview Foundation Board member; NeighborWorks of Pueblo board; Pueblo Symphony Association president; and Palmer Land Conservancy board secretary. She and her husband Jeff have 2 grown daughters and 6 grandchildren.
